If you break up then it's over. If you tell him it might still be over, but there is a chance that it won't. If you were fooling around with another guy, then obviously your boyfriend isn't on your mind as he should be. You obviously don't care enough for hin to have a long commitment with him. Do him a favor and let him loose. he deserves better. And no, being drunk is not an excuse for anything. you chose to drink and are old enough to know what happens when you drink. Take responsibility for your actions.

I think you have to be honest with your feelings, and sensitive about his. If you honestly think you've learned a lesson and you'll never cheat again, and your boyfriend is willing to trust you on that and wants to work things out, I think you should work on this and stay together. If you can prove your commitment, I think you'll become a stronger couple in the long term. If you think you might fool around again, or your boyfriend doesn't want to continue things, then I think you'll just have to part ways. If you do go separate ways, please try to keep considering his feelings, and don't jump into bed with the first half good-looking guy who comes your way. You both have issues to work through and hearts to mend, and if you continue to be kind and considerate to each other even after the break-up, you can still salvage a friendship if you wish.

It's his choice.
