  • I think it's because a lot of parents spoil their children!
  • ...misguided indifferent parenting?
  • I totally disagree with you. Kids have ALWAYS tried to push the boundaries. Every generation thinks the next one is worse than they were.
  • i never pushed bounderies when i was kid because mum and dad would ground me . kids now adays are too spoilt throw tantrums and parents let them away with it
  • When Elvis first appeared on tv, his dancing was considered so offensive they would not show him from the waist down. That is considered absolutely vanilla today and no child would even raise an eyebrow if he did an elvis impersonation at a school talent show. It is the norm for the previous generation to think the next is somehow worse. This generation is breaking boundaries, but so did we. Ours were just as outrageous to the former generation.
  • I think it's t.v. films and music but only because these things have taken the role of parenting because the parents just aren't there to raise their kids anymore. More and more kids are being raised in single parent homes or with both parents working. And there is not nearly as much family interaction anymore. A typical kid might get picked up after school and spend the rest of the night in his room playing X-box or on the computer. Families dont even have dinner together anymore. The kid might just come out and pop something in the microwave. I'm in my twenties and when i was growing up we had video games, but i only played them if there was nothing else to do. I would much rather play outside with my brothers and our friends or on the weekend do something with my parents.
  • Who never did? I did, my dad did, his dad did, and so on. Pushing boundaries isn't new and it doesn't have anything to do with tv or films, it's basic human nature on display.
