yeah it really does you can't play for like two hours with out it overheating. Don't buy it unless you want to have a housefire so keep a extingusher handy while your playing.

I've had zero issues with overheating, though I keep my system out in the open where there's plenty of air to cycle through. The fact that there haven't been a raft of reports of retail units overheating should say a lot about the build quality of the unit (especially considering how problematic early PS one and PlayStation 2 models were). So long as you're not making a carpet taco out of your PS3 and you give it plenty of room to both suck in cool air and jet out the hot stuff, it should get warm, but never overly hot to the touch.

I agree. I've had zero issues with overheating with my ps3. But I also have the ps3 on top of my entertainment center. I have played the ps3 for more then 4 hours and I have had the ps3 on for more then 24 hours then played a game. I got the ps3 the first week in January and played it every day. Now my Friend also has a ps3 well had until today. He had it turned on since he got it about a month ago. Also had his ps3 in his entertainment center along with his entertainment systems. Just think of computers. Most computers have 3 to 4 fans to keep everything cool. And the ps3 is a computer with a small case.
