  • Yes I am afraid so. Nice people are less likely to take the shortcuts that are sometimes used to win or reach the top
  • I understand why some people think and act as though they need to be ruthless in order to get to the top of the pecking order, and in certain circumstances that is true. However I think in many organisations nowadays, and certainly in smaller businesses, the relationship between workers and management is more persoanl than it ever used to be, so both sides get to know each other as a person. This allows them to see what a person is really like to a greater degree than before. Where I work is more like this than before and I think this is the way that business management is heading, as it probably increases productivity, as staff enjoy their jobs more and maybe feel secure. If you are asking about nice girls on the romance side of life, then I have to say I'd pick the nice girl anyday of the week. I prefer someone who is kind, sharing and generous to a girl who is an absolute knockout but treats others like crap. Of course, ideally I'd be with the nice girl who *is* an absolute knockout!
  • Nope. I've always felt that what goes around, comes around. It's okay to be aggressive about what you want, but not at the expense of others. Otherwise, (like they say) the people you stepped over on your way to the top will be the same people you grovel to on the way back down.
  • Yeah... I girl can be taken advantage of just as easily as a guy. It's just those certain people who will recognize your kind, forgiving, generous character as a source from which they will repeatedly take until you put a stop to it. Not all people are like this, and you can be nice without letting people walk all over you, but if a nice guy can finish last, a nice girl most certainly can too. It's happened to me.
  • yes but in a different way. nice guys will often never get the girl, but nice girls can get the guy, but they will end up getting played (used) by the guy.
  • None of it applies to anything, It's a load of rubbish. Whoever made this phrase up was more than likely, stuck in a bout of self-pity over his lack of girlfriend at the time. If you decide to use this yourself make sure that you inject a generous amount of woe into your delivery.
