  • Lol...You gotta get the switch changed if you really want the lights to work, door switches cannot be taken apart so if i were you I would just leave it as is if the windows work fine.
  • Well, you can get the switch assemblies out, and you can pop the covers off them to get access to the guts inside, but the two lamps that illuminate the switches on the main window control assembly (that's the big assembly that includes the power door lock, all four window controls, and the window lock button) are two sealed bulbs, hard-wired onto the same small, rectangular circuit board on which the various switches are also mounted. From the top they look like LEDs, but I don't think they are, because when they're lit you can see a filament inside. I don't think you can access the underside of the circuit board (e.g., to replace these lamps) without damaging the assembly. However, I would think that lamps like these would be designed to last longer than the life of the car under normal use, so if you lost both of them simultaneously, and/or the separate lamp in the side view mirror control, I would suspect something like a poor connection in the wiring harness on the lead(s) that power the lamps. My problem is only one of the three lamps I mentioned above is working right now. I lost the top half of the window assembly and the light on the power mirror control, and for awhile, I was able to get them both working again by rapping on the assembly. That's why I suspect a wiring/connection problem. However, so far, I've had no success in figuring out what/where the problem is.
