no you cant find out who downrated you. i know it gets annoying but we all have to just put up with it
-
nope. no one has to answer for their negative pointing.
-
No, and it's probably a good thing. Next thing you know, people would just be getting into rating wars. There's enough of that going on already. The points don't really matter anyway.
-
No but it is time that AB made it so that the person had to leave a name or comment.Too many TROLLS are playing games at the moment and they are not all newcomers either EDIT Here comes some more minuses
-
I also think that one should be required to leave a comment, It does no one anygood to be seeking an answer to a question that is important to them, only to be labeled "nonsense"
-
You can't.
-
Other than asking via comment or hoping that they left a comment for you, you can't. Downratings are kept private. That way people can feel comfortable to downrate without fear of retribution.
-
You cannot come to know that. Just move on and ask good questions. And ignore the whole points thing. They will add up and you will get downrated and uprated both, no matter what rank you are.
-
that's life on AB, you get trolled and you can't tell who did it. Welcome!
-
You'll never know. You'll only sit there, with a facial gesture somewhat resembling that of your avatar until someone rates you back up. We all know the feeling.
-
wow this is amazing some fat troll downrated me a -5... cmon whats wrong with this site?
-
They call that trolling.
-
As far as I know, there is no way to tell. I really wish there was a way. I don't mind negative rating if there is a comment so that I can at least understand why. I just don't like being able to rate someone down with no explanation. Unless of course the other is being purposely rude.
-
People can just go around giving them for kicks. I know it can be frustrating, but what purpose would it really serve to know who did it anyway. That point system isn't all that important to me anyway. I just let it go, myself.
-
No easy way. One thing you could possible do is look at people profiles and see if you can figure out wheher the time you got the negative rating was when they are normally on. E.g. they answered the same question as you at roughly the same time that you got the negative rating. But basically - no you cant. Annoying but they are limiting the amonut people can downgrade you. So in future someone wont be able to look at all your answrs and take pointd away. Note it doesn not affect your score directly - negative ratings do not deduct points. Although it does change your position in the answer - e.g. if you were top answer and move down to fourth, you are less likely to score more points because a lot of people dont read down that far. So indirectly it may affect you but not too much. The trolls are more to be pitied than scolded. Then agian I quite like the idea of throwing them into a pot of boiling water.
-
Unfortunately no.
-
Nope. Either ignore them or turn off ratings. Paying attention to them just lets the trolls win. (They don't actually subtract from your points total, FYI.)
-
No, we can't. It is good advice just to turn off your "ratings" and just try to enjoy yourself.
-
No! I noticed you had been downed after I up rated you!! on the question on euthanasia! They did the same to English Girl!! I think there’s a lot of fanatics on here who may get a bit tetchy about the subject matters!? try not to let it bother you, someone will up rate you, you have some good questions!! ;-)
-
Sadly no we can never be sure even if we think we have a pretty good idea.
-
There is no real way to do it. The best solution is to guess or to stop caring.
-
No. It's none of my business what other people think about me.
-
Nope, but you can relax in the knowledge that if it's someone who is stalking you to down rate that they have absolutely nothing else more worthwhile to do.
-
No you can only assume.
-
Nope. Just figure it's some poor ignorant soul.
-
I used to think that if someone didn't agree with my question or my answer, it must be them, but I have found out that is not necessarily true. Someone can write a scathing comment but not be the downrater.
-
i figured out a way. when you notice you got a DR, you can look at the watch list and depending on how you have it set it'll list other peoples' answers and if their answer is the same exact time as your DR than that COULD be the same person who down rated you. its easy to spot if it just happend but not if it happend a few days ago. but the obvious way is when someone DR you and actually leave a comment.

I always find it "funny" when someone does it, Gina! It means I've. . . .most likely. . . ..pissed someone off because I've made them "think" or "consider" something they don't want to! It's so-o-o-o-o unimportant to me. Really! I could just care less! But here's +5. . . . . . . .because you're my "friend"!
