I got one, once. I had just met my boyfriend, and had to work late one night. When I got to my car after work he had left me a rose and a poem. I was thrilled. Speechless. I must have had the goofiest smile on my face.

My husband, who was at the time my boyfriend, did write me a brief little poem once (I thought!). When I expressed how touched I was by the gesture, he broke down and told me he copied it from a greeting card. Admittedly, he's not really poetic so, I think it's the thought that counts.

Yes, a girl back in High School I was 15 at the time. She was a god friend, however I wase'nt interested in her in that way. I felt kinda bad telling her that I only wanted to stay as friends. I know I hurt her, but hey, you know what they say "The truth hurts"

This question makes me sad. I have NEVER had anything written to me or anything like that that was from a lover. I am 20 and I have JUST gotten my first girlfreind and I am still very lonely. I used to try and worship God ya know, but I have not "been there" enough I guess. I just want my long time dreams to come true, I want someone to REALLY love me like I am something other then shit you know. *sad*

No one's ever written me a poem, but I spent hours writing one for someone else. I put my heart and soul into writing it for her, but she broke up with me before I had a chance to give it to her. Funny how the person who makes you feel best you've felt in your entire life can turn around and step on you like you're nothing...

I broke up with the love of my life some months ago and left to live to another country to study. He had broken my heart so i left trying not to think about him and he never reached me till some days ago. I was very surprised to see an email of him on my inbox and it was a poem. My ex used to hide his emotions from me all the time so i thought this was very shocking and when i read it, i couldn't believe his beautiful words. I would love to share my first dedicated poem but i guess id like to keep it for myself but the name of it is Synchronized swimmers.

No. But my husband has written 2 poems to some harlot that he me again through Friends Reuinted. We have been together for over 25 years-it has broken my heart and ruined our marriage.

yes, once. sadly, i have lost the poem as a response of my anger at the moment we ended our relationship. perhaps destroying it was for the best. words can be a poison just as easily as they can be ambrosia to the heart.
