Hi there, I always use Melaleuca Oil (also known as Tea Tree Oil) on any cuts or scratches. It's naturally antibacterial, and helps to kill any bacteria which will make your cut heal quicker. It's also extremely absorbable (if that's a word), as the oil is taken beneath just the top skin layers to really heal. It also won't irritate most skin types, and can be used as often as necessary - and it smells good! I've been using it for many years, though especially in the last few days due to numerous scratched from my new pet bunny :-) Hope that helps!
i use listerine to bathe it in .listerine is a very strong antiseptic and healer .cold black tea is also good
As already said, tea tree essential oil can speed healing of minor cuts- although it can irritate sensitive skins- try mixing in a few drops with some sweet almond oil for a gentler solution. Lavender oil also has a beneficial effect, and smells a lot nicer as well.
Be careful using peroxide on scrapes. My son had a bike accident and had scrapes on his face as a result of pavement burns.
We also thought peroxide was the best solution for cleaning the wounds. When in fact we were told by the ER nurse that it caused more problems as it made the scrapes raw. It burned the sensitive tissue beneath.
Hydrogen Peroxide is useful to clean and sterilise cuts. It is liquid - froths a bit (quite impressive), stings just slightly, but doesn't require rubbing in or fiddling about with an open wound. Its cheap and readily available. For a child's minor injury its the kind of attention and cause/effect that takes their mind off the hurt. My impression (completely unscientific data) is that cuts heal faster treated this way.
Iodex is an old school salve that works great.

Extra virgen Coconut oil has a lot of antibacterial proporties as well as it moisturizes the skin makeing it easier to heal. It also can be used with most people even the sensitive skin. Also it smells really nice. Try it out the next time you get a cut.
Soap and Water.. warm washcloth... mint leaves and milk these should all work. Clean well before and after.
1. Clean with light soap and water.
2. Gently dry with soft hand towel or gauze pad.
3. Evenly apply Triple Anti-biotic Ointment, a very common brand is "Neosporin".
4. Let that dry and absorb into your skin, after about 30-45 minutes, apply a soothing, calming oil or gel such as Extra-Virgin coconut oil or Aloe Vera gel. (I prefer Aloe Vera gel because it seems to work better for both pain and healing.)
----Repeat until scabbed over or completely healed----
----Both burns and cuts or scrapes need to air out to heal and scab over properly----Most important thing to to keep it clean and keep the bacteria out...
----If you are seeing yellow or even green areas, it may mean you have an infection from bacteria or dirt... Best to see the doctor right away if it looks serious.
