That super high setting that turns your simple bread into charcoal does a great job on english muffins, bagels, and sometimes frozen pastries. Besides - some decent people do like their toast on the crispy side.

Because there is a guy in every factory who went to a school of electronics to learn about things like that, and had high-feluting dreams of ferraris and all sorts. First day at Hobbs- 'we'd like you to design a toaster'. A friend speeds by with ferrari and amazing woman next to him. 'Right you gits' he thinks- '1 it'll be freezing, 2 nada, but 3 and it'll set your house on fire! Mwahaha!'

    They are evil, toaster manufacturers

So that, as you are leaving your ex's dwelling for the last time, you can crank it up and drop a few of his/her favorite cds into it as you are walking out the door.

The higher setting are great for frozen bread and frozen waffles. Plus, it comes in handy for thick food like bagels, and you can use it to warm up your hands when you finish cleaning the pool filter in the colder months. (No you don't put your hands in it, just hold them over.
