Is it true that salt will heal a canker sore?? Or salt water?

Supposedly salt has some natural antiseptic properties, but I've had my share of canker sores and salt has never once helped mine. If you want to get rid of them, as much as it hurts scrub the area with peroxide and then use a gel made for the sores. It'll be gone in less than 24 hours :)

Lemon works to , but salt is more painful

Rinsing your mouth with salty water helps with all types of mouth ailments, not sure what a canker sore is though;0)
