Help answer this question below.

When you are given someone's ashes, do they give you ALL the ashes? Or just a scoopful?

    all, plus a small amount of someone else. sorry, it's true. there really isn't much though concidering the human body consists mainly of water.

    I beleive they give all the ashes. My husband was given quite a bit of ash when his fater died aprx. 2 quarts. His fater had lost alot of weight and you have to take into account how much of our body is water. I think there is a law they have to give you all the ashes. Hope this helps.

    As far as I know, we received all of Grandpa Rios'
    ashes. I didn't realize the ashes would be so heavy.

    When my husband scattered them on top of Grandma Rios' grave, some of the ashes got up my husband's nose and he started sneezing. I suppose he was allergic to Pa.

    The crematory returns all of the cremains ("ashes") that can be recovered. Sometimes a family will have the funeral director to divide the cremains among several containers for distribution to several relatives.

    The material returned is not what most people think of as ashes, such as cigaret ashes or ashes from a fireplace. Rather, crematory cremains are small bone particles that are not consumed by the fire.Often, they are pulverized to reduce them to as small a size as possible.
