The National Federation of High school develops the rules and specifies measurements and regulations for high school sports including the specifications and standards of most of the equipment used including basketball glass backboards. Further, liability concerns also make it wise for any school to be in compliance with equipment standards and specifications. Manufacturers are also aware of such standards. That being said, specifications change, errors are made, and equipment can become faulty over time. As such, each case can be different depending upon the school.
