If you were stranded on a desert island with only one other person - for the sake of your survival - would you prefer that person to be "Book Smart" or to have 'Common Sense'? Why?

i would say common sense. because the typical "book smart" person generally does not adapt well to their surroundings where as the "common sense" person whould be more adaptable to their surroundings, and plus what if you were stuck with the book smart person and they never read a book about being trapped on a deserted island??

Common Sense. I'm book smart and having two people who can find the square root of 378924i to the third power over 7 will not help us stay alive lol.

common sense... if a person has common sense, they can usually figure anything out. That, and I am book smart (well, I was before I had kids!)

I would have to say common sense becuase then you havethe ability to thank out rationaly, whereas if someone knows all their presidents, i mean why would ya need to know that kind of stuff for survival?

Common sense.There's probably no books there so the book smart person would have real tough time.If i had no choice in the matter and it was the book smart guy.He would get a class 101 on following my lead to survive.

common sense, book smart has nothing to do with survival...ever watched Frasier...he's a prime example.

A blender! I could use the sharp blades to make other objects with it & also to cut fruits or meat. And use the plastic as a drinking cup, gotta think food first before trying to get off the island, lol I can't have McGyver unless if I eat first, hehe

I would choose to have McGyver. With his pocket knife, he would be able to build a boat and would know how to get us back to civilization.

MacGyver could make the boat and the blender himself from stuff he finds on the island (and do it with style). I saw an episode where he stopped a lethal acid leak with a Hershey bar.

The Blender. But I would want it to be my blender from home. Because I happen to own one of the most powerful models of blender ever made. That thing can crush a brick into a fine powder in less than 5 seconds. Of course, I wouldn't have anywhere to plug it in, but I could still break the blades off and get some use out of them.
