It's easier if you don't, because they tear easy after cooked!! Find a recipe that says don't cook them first!!!

Soak them in room temperature water for 5 minutes. Don't fully cook the noodles before hand or they will be too soft after baking.

You can buy noodles and it says on the package no cooking required...it cuts out a step...some noodles are thicker than other. I would definitely buy the package that says no cooking required instead of those that don't..they are readily available in the supermarkets

I prefer to use fresh noodles that aren't dried, but if I use regular pasta noodles, I rather cook them instead of doing the no cook. The reason is that the dried noodles draw the moisture out of your ingredients to cook and get soft. Many of the 'no cook' recipes add extra moisture, making them at times too soupy for my taste or they come out too dry. I'd rather be in control of known moisture and have each part of the lasagna right from the start. That way my lasagna doesn't come out too wet or too dry, which is a terrible thing to do to a great meal.

I found that the "no cook" noodles are NOT GOOD...I recommend cooking them.

They do sell noodles that are oven ready. You can use uncooked only if there is LOTS of liquid in your casserole and I think you would need a lid. I make a spaghetti casserole with uncooked noodles but there is a lot of liquid stuff in it.

cook them al dente they dwill continue to cook while you bake, but dont cook raw
