PEACE....from a 60's hippie.

Both- Because I attempt to lead a life that is pleasing to God, I am more peaceful. I have less guilt leaving me at peace. Righousness leaves one at peace.

I think you are confused with the definitions of these two terms and/or their interdependence on each other. Righteousness IS one of the MAJOR KEY leading to peace. Righteousness and compassion goes hand in hand. Rigteousness without compassion is blatant sanctimonious hypocrisy. Just like those who brag about how righteous they are but do not understand that forcing an innocent animal to die in order to eat their flesh is an act of bullying and robbing the life and body off from the weak and helpless. What's so righteous about using might to bully, inflict pain and finally rob the life away from another defenseless living being? MIGHT does not mean RIGHT. Furthermore, the sum of all these unrighteous bullies and their cunning dealings with one another have resulted both in the direct and indirect continuance to war and terror on Earth and are the major major obstacle to world peace on this planet. The brilliant Ionian Greek mathematician, Pythagoras, also thought along this line and stated: "For as long as men massacre animals, they will kill each other. Indeed, he who sows the seeds of murder and pain cannot reap joy and love." Therefore, in order to achieve world peace, schools should teach children to respect other's properties (inclusive of those belonging to animals), respect the lives of other human beings and animal beings; and to introduce and promote vegetarian foods to them. The first step to world peace is for future generations to fully understand and accept the interdependence of the above two terms and that its path leading to world peace must necessarily incorporate the cultivation of kindenss to animals in a new vegetarian world order. As Nobel Prize Physicist, Albert Einstein, stated: "Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances of survival for life on earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet"

I would say righteousness is (or should be) a foundation of peace.
