Van Gogh cut off his ear, I was thinking of doing the same, but using the ear would be unoriginal. So, what shall I cut off?

Well, not your nose, it would spite your face. Old blue jeans maybe? Better yet - cut off any inheritance you are in line for; that would be original and it makes a statement.

Just go for an asymmetrical hair cut, very flattering. If you want to get freaky, I like dark, blue/purple hair! If you already look like this, reverse the concept. Mousy hair, bangs and glasses. When the unique mood passes, you can revert to your usual self, or even back to your unusual self.

Cutting off your ... hair would hurt much less than an ear. For something original, may I suggest just cutting one side? Or perhaps a nice wide swath right down the middle?
