Not at all. Questions for different catagories can be answered well by anyone with the knowledge to answer that question well. Opinion questions are no issue, because everyone's opinion is valid. Sometimes someone older may have more experience to draw on for certain topics, but in the same vein, may have no idea about other topics. I can't answer PS2, Wii, Myspace questions :)

No, not at all. There are so many users that I associate with reliable answers, and many of them are my age. At first, they are rather hard to come across, so maybe it is a matter of probability or something, but there are definitely reliable answers coming from younger age groups. The whole thing here is maturity. People who come here and just make fun and act stupid most of the time (if not all) are really what make the younger people look ignorant as a whole. I think the older people know better, and they are past that, while most of the younger people are just being immature. really, I'm thinking maturity level is a better indicator of reliability than age. Sometimes the age groups that are mature, are most likely younger, so it seems like they would have less accurate/reliable answers.

It definitely depends on the question, but for the most part a younger person could see alot and hear alot and have a bigger understanding of the world around them than others could, I guess, and therefore supply genuinely good answers and/or questions. Age SHOULD become a matter in certain instances, when certain questions imply that age is very important and if one isn't experienced enough in their life career to answer, they shouldn't attempt to.

In many cases yes -- though I think more accurately, it is the years of experience an individual has on a subject that impacts the reliability. Many answers are fact based, and any good researcher can answer those -- but I think questions like "Do you regret not having kids?" -- would best be answered by people too old to start a family. And a question like "what is the best way to make a souffle" would best be answered by a chef who has made 1000's of them.

On the whole I think a lot of the teens on here are very mature for their years. Obviously some questions are unsuitable for them but on the whole I have noticed they do not normally attempt to answer them which is a good sign of maturity I think they usually give reliable answers because they are mature and sensible enough to stick to the things they know and if they dont know they look it up. This can also be applied to older members a lot of technical questions and other things are way beyond my scope so i do not answer them. It is a waste of time trying to look up something when you do not even understabd the question. There are very clever people that seem to know everything and many very bright people and I think that includes all age groups.

I think experience, wisdom and knowledge matter more than age. Age just gives you more time to obtain these valuable skills.

Reliable answers, i believe, lies within the individual person and their abilities and experiences of the past. Some older people can give accurate answers based on life's experiences and to pass it on to younger people. Some younger people can give accurate answers based on their education and maturity. Example: my expertise is law and society. i am age 63. ask me a question about a dvd, blackberry, or an autos transmission and i am out of my class. We all fit somewhere. Age,should not be a factor.

Not really, it's all about maturity like a lot of other answers have said.

yes the older the question the worse the answers get
