When I struggled with this, I found it helped to break up the tasks a bit more. For example: Mondays - dust, all mirrors Tuesdays - 1st bathroom Wednesdays - mop floors Thursdays - 2nd bathroom Fridays - vacuum, wipe walls Saturdays - laundry (1st sat of month, fridge)(2nd sat of month, ,microwave)(3rd sat of month, oven)(4th sat of month, change bedding) Sundays - put up feet

Turn off the TV and turn on the radio, get some clean breezy smells going on, open the blinds and windows if it's warm enough & get started. You may need to invite some company over, that is usually motivating because you want to make a good impression & a dirty house is not inviting. (with no kids at home it should be easy to keep clean)

- Turn on some great music (reasonably loud, but not too loud to disturb the neighbours) - Take off most of your clothes ... and clean your house in your underwear. Its a bit strange at first, but seriosuly.... its the most comfy and fun you can actually make house-cleaning. Oh... and make sure you blinds are shut in case your neighbours are snooping on ya!

Don't work slowly, try to get in the habit of doing it in a relatively quick manner. It's much less desirable to do when it is a task that takes hours to do.
