Vacuum cleaner. Hoover is a brand name, that sadly has been dying out in recent years. The company was just sold last year. Brilliant new entrepreneurs such as Dyson are emerging now.

Vacuum. Hoover is a brand name of a Vacuum. I am guessing that is a regional thing? (kind of like if you say soda or pop or Pepsi or ......)

vacuum or vacuum cleaner. I guess because all vacuum cleaners are not Hoovers but all Hoovers are vacuum cleaners.
