No, of course not! I am, as well as all of my LGBT friends, Christian. God created and loves us all.
-
Only because most churches and Christians hate them.
-
of course not.... but yes.. the MAJORTIY of christians hate them...

Are you kidding? First of all "gay" and "church" should bnever be used in the same sentence because of totally conflicting ideas about humanity and love. I'm not gay but I'd walk into a night club that was on fire, burning to the ground than choose to be Christian. Religion does not belong in the bedroom, between man and wife or man and man or woman and woman. Religion is a man-made fallacy whose only purpose is to keep people in line with fear, and take their money while having them believe that they are giving of thier own accord and fool them into worrying about the eternal souls of strangers instead of being concerned with what they are doing on THIS PLANE OF EXISTENCE.

Nope. Homosexuals sort of understand more that they are also eligible for the love of the God of whatever religion they are in. I'm not saying that the straight community does not understand. It's just there are some straight folks who hates them and despises them. The act of hating a human being of who he is is unbecoming of a Christian or whatever religion. I don't know a religion that teaches hate. It is individual choice of how we react to homosexuals, religion does not really pay too much influence with that personal dislike. Though, I know some homosexuals who are atheist. It is 'believed' that homosexuals are more 'enlightened' because they encounter experiences of both sexes. This 'enlightenment' brings them closer to their chosen religion (or none).

There are no "practicing homosexuals" in my congregation..... can't speak for others.
-
No not at all but they are judged and persecuted more by so-called christians!
-
If they are smart then yes
-
Of coarse not! The so called Christians who persecute them would like to think so but its not true. Discrimination is un-Christian as Jesus preached to love thy neighbor.

Most of the churches I've attended do not allow homosexuals as members or as constituents for that matter. Episcopalian and certain Methodist denominations are accepting and also marry homosexuals. There are numerous homosexual priests and pastors in these churches as well. Another accepting church is the United Church of Christ (not the International Churches of Christ as they are fundamental). I cannot say whether homosexuals are less likely to be Christian. I think it depends on a person's spiritual needs. I think a lot of homosexual people would steer clear of the church. If they heard the justification, "homosexuality is one of the most grievous sins because it is sin against one's own body," they would probably stay even further away. The bible shows no mercy for homosexuality, at least in the Old Testament. In the New Testament, I recall the mention of unusual sexual acts as sin. Pauline epistles? I can't remember. But Paul remained a Pharisee even after his conversion. Oh, one other thing. One doesn't have to attend church to be a Christian. The church will lie to you and tell you that you aren't saved unless you attend church. They will take scriptures out of context to support this notion. So, if you are homosexual and believe that the blood of Christ is for you, rejoice. P.S. - I don't attend church anymore. You could say my eyes were opened to the false ideals and doctrines of man-made religion.

Not that I have observed, but it certainly makes it harder when Ratzinger issues letters calling LGBT people "intrinsically evil" and states that being gay is "worse than global warming." I certainly don't consider either of those bigoted statements to follow the teachings of Jesus, do you?
-
IF by any chance they are, it's because the churches reject them. I think I know a lot of Homosexuals that actually do believe in Christianity. It's just sad that many sects do not believe in them.
-
With the way those children of god carry on about homosexuals, I'd imagine it's very difficult. Besides, if I were one, why the hell would I ever wanna belong to such a hateful clan that's ready to poke my eyes out at any given moment?
-
Of course they are- the church hates them - so if i were one ( which im not) - i wouldnt be a christian.

This is an interesting question. What percentage of homosexuals are Christian, and what percentage of the heterosexual population (same definition for population - say US or World) are Christian? I would suspect that a smaller percentage of homosexuals are Christian, if only for the reason that the mainstream teaching is that homosexuality is sinful would start the questioning process that leads away from Christianity. I know several Christian homosexuals, but most of my homosexual friends are Pagan, Agnostic, Buddhist, or Atheist. One is Jewish. 76.5% of the US Population is Christian (or self-identifies as such). http://www.adherents.com/adh_dem.html I'm looking for numbers on what percentage of US homosexuals are Christian.

Not really sure. If the question is about churches I would say maybe so. If you refer to being a christian as one who believes in god or a diety than maybe not. I consider myself a christian or at least believe in a creed that is common amoung many religions but I do not attend church. As to me being a homosexual, or hetro, bi, or something unique to me I will leave for another time. +4 because what good are they if not given?
-
Don't know, but if that is the case, good for them and no one could deem such decision wrong.
