If you saw someone not clean up after their dog would you reprimand them or rat them out them out to the nearest police officer?

I wouldn't say or do anything. With the exception rape. child molestation, murder or cruelty to aninals I wouldn't rat out anyone.

Nah. I'd probably do something similar to what my Mom did with one of my older brothers when a neighbor was in the habit of letting their dog out to cr*p in our yard. She paid him a nickle a pile to put it all on their front porch. Worked like a charm! (Yeah, a nickle back then was a decent amount of money to a kid. In my defense here, I had yet to be conceived, let alone born.)

I would probably do nothing. Not a particularly big harm being done. I would have less respect for that person if I knew them or met them elsewhere, though.

this is a great question. when i walk to the park with my dogs, and i see another dog owner who does not clean up after their dog, i say hold on, and give them one of my bags.

When walking my dog I always carry an extra doggie doo doo bag in case I find someone who is not going to pick up after their dog (I offer them one at the time it happens) or to use it to pick up a after dog that is long gone. I want non dog owners to know that we try to police ourselves, not the cops.

If it was someone I knew, I'd make a mental note - maybe stare & let them know I knew. If someone else was around I might make mention very loudly "Did you know that so&so doesn't have the courtest to..."
