  • maybe look it up in your local phone book
  • There are many resources out there for burlesque performers. There are plenty of Yahoo newsgroups that have the dancers themselves offering advice. Search yahoo groups for "burlesque" "teaseorama" and "missexoticworld". Some good websites to go to would be exoticworldusa.com, gstringsforever.com, and theswedishhousewife.com You can also purchase how-to dvds from itsachick.com or take burlesque classes from established performers, like Kitten DeVille, Indigo Blue, and Bombshell Betty. There is even a burlesque magazine out there, not sure of the name. You might be able to buy it in stores but if not, google it. If you go to wikipedia.com and type burlesque, i am sure you can learn a lot. As for becoming a performer yourself, the best thing to do would be to go to some burlesque shows yourself, talk with some of the performers, take a class (classes normally have a graduation performance in front of a real audience), and look to join a local troupe or go solo.
