I am trying to do that very same thing right now. I do not want to be mean and I do not want any drama, so I am just nice, but from afar. I say I am busy when she wants to get together, try not to answer the phone when she calls, then just call her back later but make it quick. This way you are not being mean and you seem like you are a busy, successful person. As for your side, it is important to fill your life up with new friends and keep busy with your family etc. Out of site, out of mind is the key here.
