  • I don't know where you're from, so unfortunately I can't get specific. I do know that I've got out of a few tickets in my state (KY) because the officer wrote the wrong color (for my car) and misspelled my name. I also don't know if your tickets are being taken to court, as mine were. If so, be on your best behaviour (naturally!) be assertive, but not obnoxious. It's a thin line, but it can work wonders. For example, my speech to the judge for the first ticket... "Your Honor, with all due respect to the officer in question, if he can't tell what color my car is standing right next to it *and* reading the registration, how could he possibly have noticed when I was allegedly going 135 miles in the opposite direction?" That one was dismissed without prejudice. However, every situation is different. If you need advice quick, trying calling a lawyer. Most will either answer a few questions free, or do a free consultation. Anyway, good luck and I hope this helps some :D
  • I generally agree with the other answers. I've known many an officer to notice their mistake, however, and file an ammendment to the citation which takes away your loophole.
  • All of this can be corrected in traffic court. under oath, the officer will identify you as traffic violator that he issued the citation. making most mistakes will be corrected in court. at least, its better than being physically arrested and taken to jail. anyway, the object of the citation is for you to appear in court or pay the fine. if you are guilty, everything else will fall into place.
