Been there, done that. If I had to pick one that I liked in particular, military. I agree with Darryl that they all had and have my respect.

A fire women thank. I would never see her if she worked in the military and she would be working in too dangerous of a job if she was in the police force.

While they all have my respect, I would not want to be involved with one. It's no fun to watch someone you love go off to work while thinking that today might be the day they get killed. So if I have to pick one, I'd pick firefighter- lowest death rate of the three. I would NOT pick military personnel, because rather then going to work each day and coming home each night, they can be sent away for months at a time.
