I have a house plant that looks like a large leafed ivy with solid green leaves. A sticky substance comes out when you touch it or break off a leaf, and it's hard to get off your fingers. What is this plant?

The description is a little vague but I suspect that it is Fatsia japonica , or a close hybrid relative Fatshedera lizei
