  • Yes I have done it many times.
  • Mind over matter. The power of the mind is amazing. Ever just TOTALLY dread going some where to the point you were sick in some way? The power of the mind.
  • Yes, absolutely. The placebo effect.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Placebo ...and mass hysteria are well-known phenomena... http://www.gladwell.com/archive/1999/1999_07_12_t_coke.htm
  • Of course. Prime example is an easy to reproduce workplace experiment with a few coworkers...have a group of people throughout the day ask the "target" if they feel okay cause they look sick....and insist upon it. Get the timing right and 4 or 5 coworkers can convince another that is perfectly healthy that they are ill and they'll go home sick.
  • yes i do it all the time, once i wanted a day off work and rung in sick then i really did convince myself and really did need the eay off!!
  • Yes I honestly believe you can. I think you can do it so much you can will yourself to die. I had a relative who swore he had cancer. Went to the doctor and found out he didn't. Swore the doctor was wrong and refused to believe otherwise. laid in bed and told everyone how he was dying. Went to several doctors who said there was nothing wrong with him that his body was as healthy as anyones. 10 years he kept this up until one day his daughter found him dead. They could not find a cause.
  • Absolutely. I think you can psych yourself out over virtually anything. The brain is a very powerful thing! lol
  • I'd say "yes"... I ate chili cheese Fritos while finishing up The Dark Half by Stephen King and I guess the graphic nature turned my tummy and threw up after reading through the end where the bad guy got torn to shreds.
