I insert the game disc. Normally, the next visual i should get is Playstation 2... But the screen goes off black and no such visual appears. What could be the problem?

This is a loading issue thats caused by one of two things. Its either the game its self or a bad laser. Here is a simple test you can do to find out: You need four disks, one music cd, one dvd movie, one ps1 game and 1 ps2 game. If the music cd and the ps1 game work, you can get by with a laser voltage adjustment. If none work, then you have to replace the laser entirely. If, for example, the movie works and the ps2 game doesn't then it could be just the game. Hope this helps. let me know if you want to have it fixed, I know a guy;)
