What I did was buy a Lacie DVD burner for my computer. It only cost around $225.00 and is very easy to use. It was much less expensive than upgrading my Mac with a SuperBurner drive.

there are adapters you can use that reads the 8mm tapes and converts them into an mp4 or something relative to burn on a disk. what your looking for is similar to the vhs-dvd conversion hardware and software. i would start there. search 8mm conversion into dvd and you should have no issues finding a company who makes them.
