    The ferrari signature red since it's inception is known as corso rosso, a patented bright red with orange undertone. Very very unique color (hard to replicate) and is/was what has since been syonomous with the Ferrari brand.

    Because red it the traditional Italian motor racing colour. Therefore race Ferraris were red, therefore people would want road Ferraris to be same colour. And, of course, it is eye catching. If you have an exciting car like a Ferrari, you want everybody to know (except my boss, who had a dark gray one, because he said that by the time the police had seen him coming he was gone).
