Why is everyone so interested in Johnny Depp? Does anyone else think he's not hot enough for people to become so obsessed over? I think he's a great actor but I don't understand what is SO wonderful about him.

He's fairly good looking, but some people are just a little too crazy to handle it. Poor man probably has loads of stalkers. I don't think he's hot enough to be OBSESSED over.

Sometimes, it has more to do with someone's demeaner, attitude, and overall personality. Depp comes across as sort of a bad boy with a soft side. He's also pretty confident which is generally a sexy quality. Plus, personality, like beauty, is subjective.

Characters count, honestly I don't find him handsome, he just had a simple beauty.. I find him just a simple guy with a great level of acting performance.. The people who knew him very well will tell us how wonderful such a person is..

I don't really feel one way or the other about Johnny Depp. I do love some the characters he plays, though. I think he did an excellent job as both Willy Wonka and Jack Sparrow. Quirky, slightly "off" characters seem to be his calling.

Actually I once met him by coincidence. I was on a vacation in California back in 1995 and my friend and I were strolling on the promenade of Venice Beach. There was this 5 ft 6 in tall guy in helmet and roller scates and stopped to rest on a bench. He was listening to us talking in our language - Maltese and wondered what language it was. He started a conversation with us and took off his helmet. We immediately recognised him but stayed cool. He was curious and asked us if we ever heard of an actor Johnny Depp. We said 'of course! he's a very good actor'.. waved goodbye and left him speechless! For me, he looked nothing special.. just a normal guy - quite short for me to be honest! But his films were all a great success so he should be appreciated for his work and not for his body!! :-)
