What are the parents in the New england states doing differently? That area has the lowest percentage of teen pregnancies. What do you think the reason is?

I think New England didn't fall for the Bush "abstinence is the only message" ideology. Those states that did fall for it hook-line-and-sinker now have the highest teen pregnancy rates.

Ugly people and Blue Laws may account for the lowest percentage of teen pregnancies up there

I know nothing of regional differences within the United States but it must be either because teenagers in those states are better educated about sex, or because more of them abstain from having intercourse.

Fear of god, religion, and scorning from family members for producing a bastard child. There's a big concentration of catholics up north.

your wrong im from newport r.i. and the parents dont care here.well half of them that is. there as been 15 girls pregrnant in the last 6 months.i think its the childs dicison here
