  • Kids suck. They are going to suck on something whether it is a pacifier, their thumb, a teddy bear ear, or the cat's tail. So, it might as well be something that you can control and keep somewhat clean.
  • No pacifier it is just a bad habit that you will have to stop at a later time.
  • Only if they cry a lot.
  • Whatever suits that family, if a pacifier makes life a little easier then why not?? I used one with all four of my kids, two eldest and youngest one came of them at 2, the other one didnt take to it at all, I mean lets face it it really isnt as hard as people think to get rid of them, so if a mummy wants to give her baby a pacifier to settle them for a little longer ,then why not!
  • neither of my kids got one. you have enough to break a baby from, and that one is unnecessay in my opinion. from what i've seen, it's a hard habit to break a child from. it's a huge pet peeve of mine to see a 2 or 3 year old child with a pacifier!
  • I worked at a daycare and one baby didn't have a pacifier and we dreaded when that baby would wake up! Always crying because she had nothing. The parents didn't want to give her one because their 3 year old still has one but that is their own fault for not weening him off of it. They always give it to him when he wants it. Learn to say "no!" I say pacifier.
  • I never gave any of my 3 a pacifier and don't regret it.
  • Personal choice. My son had one. Babies suck, they will suck whatever they can get at and I preferred giving him something designed to be like the nipple when feeding so as not to damage his teeth as opposed to his thumb which could. It was very easy to ween him off it slowly.
