I have a basic HP laptop. I use a wireless mouse instead of the mouse pad. How would I turn the mouse pad off?

It's different for each operating system. Here's how to do it in Windows Vista. 1. Go to Control Panel 2. Under "Hardware and Sound" select "Mouse" 3. This will bring up the "Mouse Properties" box. 4. Selct the "Device Settings" tab. 5. There should be only one device listed, probably Synaptics Touchpad Vx.x. 6. Highlight that device (if it isn't already) and then click the "disable" button. 7. At the bottom of the box, click on "Apply". That's it! If you aren't using Vista, it's basically the same but if you have problems let me know your OS and I'll walk you through it. Hope this helps.
