Where is the fuel filter located on a 1997 Ford Escort, and what tools are needed to change it?

    I believe it should be just behind the upper intake plenum, strap-mounted to the firewall. (Underneath the wiper motor, if you're not real car savvy.) I believe only a screwdriver and some rags to catch fuel will suffice for tools to change it. It uses self-sealing clips to plug in line, and a strap with one screw to hold it in place. You'll probably need jackstands too, as it's a little easier to remove from under the car.
