  • Yes, because if I'm coughing, I'm covering my mouth and whatever flew out landed in my hand. So, I would assume no one saw it and see no reason to gross people out. I would wipe it off on a napkin or paper towel discreetly and not make a scene. If for some reason someone did see, I would apologize and clean it up. Then probably apologize again and again.
  • Well, you should have had your mouth covered, but , if not (and it happens), you just say "OH sh*t! Excuse me"
  • It depends on what flew out of your mouth and where you are and who saw. If it's large enough to retrieve and no one saw, discretely retrieve and dispose. If people saw, then apologize and retrieve and dispose. If it's drops of spit and you'll never find them, don't make a big deal about mopping the cabaret, excuse yourself if anyone saw and forget it, people already expect that bars are dirty. So anyway, that's one reason why your mother acvised you to cover your mouth when you cough. As an extra measure, I usually also turn my face away from others when I have to cough.
  • haha oh jeepers. this reminds me of a bad story in high school. i had a cold and i was coughing really hard. well uhhh flem flew up from my mouth and hit my classmates backback. he was like "wtf was that?" and i was sooo embarassed so i wiped it off real fast and was like "uhhh it was a gummy bear, yeah a gummy bear". and pulled out a bag of gummy bears to "show him" that i wasnt lieing. haha.
