  • Maybe they got soured by stupid questions designed to bring out the worst in people. Just a wild guess.
  • They just want a "shock" response. Ignore um.
  • I have no clue. I don't know what to answer or not almost anymore. That was clearly not a joke and shouldn't have been encouraged. Just what flagging is for. But someone probably got ticked for it. Some tool is d/ring my old answers right now, I'm guessing for some beautifully worded sarcasm I laid on them earlier. But some of those answers were completely uncalled for. Good call, Yeahwell...
  • This guy needs professional help. Coming to a forum such as AB isn't it and he knows that. I suspect this is a person that has been reprimanded for similar stuff on AB and has come back as anonymous.
  • Well if you ask a stupid question you gonna get a stupid answer. Right?
  • I don't know. I was one of the answerers and when I'd finished, I read the other answers. The only thing I came up with was that some of the responders, didn't believe the Q was serious... I hope I'm right about that. I also hope, they were right. I should also say, there were many good answers posted as well.
  • It is not a case of being calloused. Seasoned users like myself have come to view this type of question as being essentially fake. Usually the same user comes on during school breaks with a new name and poses the same question, just to stir up the AB ant hill.
  • Some users are used to seeing fake questions of this sort, but I feel that you really can't tell if they are or not, with enough certainty, to take a chance with such responses.
  • This is the same person that has been on here since Nov threatening suicide. He REFUSES all help but wants people to give him attention. I have been suicidal and even a psychologist has been trying to help him and he always has excuses why it won't work. Read Bpurtles question.. you will see what I mean.. I would NEVER tell someone who is suicidal they just want attention but they have been doing this for over 2 months.. READ THE QUESTIONS. they couldn't get anymore attention under that name so they started a new account.. Sadly, it's people like this that keep us from helping those who REALLY are suicidal.. This guy needs help..not for suicide but because he is playing games.
  • I always write a serious reply to these sort of messages, just incase if it is the real deal, but ya most of the time it is for attention. Most suicide threats are just a call for help, but it does meen that that person does need serious help.
  • Many times I write a humorous response and should have been serious. I guess so take thing from ne extreme to another. I always attempt to be respectful. Maybe at times it is lack of respect that can be the trouble. Just my toughts!
  • Perhaps people felt angry that someone no matter how remotely, was attempting to emotionally blackmail others. Given that it was a first post, they were seeking some place to land. Why this type of site of all places? When you could find other places on the net that would be more appropriate & pertinent. That is if you were entirely genuine. And completely resolute. If instead you feel so. so low and alone - say just that. It's easy to put people offside if they feel someone is trying to manipulate them.
  • The devil made them tea, and it was tainted : )
  • Look into the history of that user. If any of it is still on this site, I'm sure much or most has been flagged and removed. That person needed help but when offered was rude and offensive about it. Hopefully Answerbag gave that person's IP to the police and he was visited by someone who can help him whether he likes it or not. I believe he was more attention starved than suicidal. Wacko either way.
  • I never leave "sarcastic" comments on questions like that even if I think the asker is just an attention seeker. You never know. I either answer as if the person is serious or I leave the question alone. Also, if the asker is an attention seeker, who knows when seeking attention stops and suicide results. Abraham Biggs is just such a case. He was the young man who was watched commit suicide on a website, egged on by people there. When the police kicked down the door that, too, was caught on tape... 12 hours later. They try to excuse themselves by saying that he was just an attention seeker. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZBHmS6ayIQ
