  • A number of things could have happened. First I would suspect that the item just bleed over and the pink picked it up. Now you said you have a well, so do I, you could have too much iron and minerals in the water. If this is happening to all your clothes I would certainly suspect this, and get an estimate on a water conditioner, they aren't cheap if you get a good one, however they can be purchased for the whole house including your drinking water.

  • I just got new chocolate brown towels because all of my old ones had those bleach spots on them. I tried to prevent it from happening again by washing only the brown towels together, on cold and using Woolite Dark. But the spots still appeared on my new towels. I was just on another site and a number of people were saying they found out it was being caused by Proactive or other facial products that contain benzoyl peroxide. My husband has been using Proactive for a few years now, which is when this started happening. I also heard toothpaste and mouthwash can cause this bleaching problem as well.
