I would not know, but I suggest asking God and see what he tells you through the answer of prayers. I would think not because I think the Bible says must be married Leagly but I dont know the Bible worth beans. Good Luck, But you are Okay in my book.

Yes. But the law wouldn't.

I'm not sure if you want a Biblical answer, but here goes: We go by the law of the land, so long as it does not comflict with the Word of God. In other words, if the law of the land said that we had to kill our neighbor, we could not comply as it comflicts with scripture (this is an absurd thought, unless you live in China, where if you get pregnant after your first child, they will force you to get an abortion - and if you hide the pregnancy, the child will not be recognized as a person). Having said that, you would not be legally married under the law, and thus not be married in God's eyes. When my husband and I were living together before we were married. Shortly after, we both became Christians and sought counsel from our pastor. Our wedding was planned in August and my mother had insisted that we live together for at least a year before we got married. We decided to secretly elope in April, and have a public ceremony in August. To this day, neither of our parents know about us eloping early. We didn't do this for them, it was for us, and for God. To my surprise, it was also a really great thing for us, as well. A wedding is two major stresses: 1. It's a HUGE commitment. 2. It's a HUGE show. We just took each stress one at a time on different days. Regardless of what you choose - this is what we felt was right for us, and I wish you both all the happiness that a good marriage can bring. Just remember, a wedding is ONE day...marriage is the rest of your lives. Edited to add: We've been married for 16 years now...it will be 17 this April...(or August if you know my parents...lol)

He would, but the part that ACTUALLY matters is the paperwork. You aren't married if you don't sign here on earth.

testing...this thread will not let me post a comment...just checking to see if it will post an answer...

I think very few churches would agree to such a marriage.

Your God will recognize anything you wish!! As long as you do it according to your God and believe in it, then by all means why wouldn't God recognize it?

Even if God does recognize the marriage, I highly recommend that you get papers signed for your own benefit. This is especially true if he's the money maker in the family because if he leaves you, there no law that says he has to help support you until you get a job. I know that this might conflict with most people, but "legal" marriage was designed to protect the welfare of the wife.
