  • You can suggest a category. I guess if they like the idea, they add it.
  • They're mostly added on the basis of user's suggestions, if they're accepted. You can go to a specific parent category and click on the small "Suggest a category" option found at the bottom left of that category's subdivisions.
  • Users suggest them, and the staff can make them. Here is what I gather... If there is appropriate content, and there already isnt a specifically suitable category, they will accept it, and make it so. I would guess at least a full page of questions for it would get it accepted, but, Ive seen some with less than that. If you build it, they will come, but, if its already been built, they need to know !!!
  • A lot of the time they are added at users suggestions and are totally unnecessary. They are then accepted and the user that suggested it is notified and it gives them a flagging bonanza. That is why we have so many stupid sub categories like Advancing Levels after Congratulating Answerbaggers, Whoever suggested that one made themselves a few days moderating . They need to be cut down not increased just for the sake of it.
  • They get the ideas from suggestions the members make. On each page it says Suggest a category, and you can add one in the appropriate place. They don't accept them all but lately I think they've been pretty lenient. How I get the idea is when I'm flagging for wrong category or asking questions and looking for someplace to put it and often I see that there isn't a place to put it or I run into many questions that all could fit in one e, like I added some musicians and some of the rabbit subcategories so they wouldn't all be in one pile.
  • According to feedbacks I guess ..
