  • No. It is various parts of the hog head, boiled down, spiced, and mixed with unflavored gelatin. Then it is put in loaf pans and cooled. Sliced and it becomes headcheese.
  • No cheese, it's simply meat parts, traditionally it was made from the head of the hog just butchered, and simmered to get all the meat off, but no eyes or lips or anything. It is actually meat. When you cook something with the bones added to the liquid it causes it all to gel so it becomes like a cold meatloaf when cooled into it's shape.
