  • I don't say it about my writing, but i say it about my local accent and dialect, I used to use it when I was younger, but now I don't use it.
  • i almost cannot remember my dialect, beacause my school is far from my home, and no one say dialect with me .
  • Peer pressure used to force me to talk like a moron to fit in. But once I realised how silly that was, I regained my composure.
  • I'm embarassed by how many "that's" I use (still use, in fact) in my writing. It was pointed out to me in a writing critique I belong to, and acted as a kind of vaccine. Now, as I write, the "that's" gather around my keyboard waiting to be used, only to be left there, with only each other for company. My grammar has improved, greatly. Not only by writing, but also by reading a lot. I still make tons of mistakes, but I catch myself more so than before. Nice thing to do before allowing others to read your stuff. Kind of like checking to see if your fly is up before going out in public.
  • i used to write online with "lol" alot when i was younger. looking back it makes me seem like an idiot to write like that.
  • Yes! Oh god yes. I used to use like...text language :| And just phrase things horribly, not the way I'd actually speak at all. It's the same with my actual speaking voice, I used to talk a lot more properly then I do. My mum and dad aren't from where we live now, so I'd never picked up the regional accent, and I spoke kind of mixed. Then I started school and I pretty much had to try to start talking like everyone else, and I basically do. Just a little bit different.
  • Oh all the time. Like even when I get a new rating or a new comment to a very old answer and read what I wrote, it's really depressing. I wish I could get rid of it all. Starting now.
  • OMG my old stuff SUCKS! It borders rediculous at times. I always wondered at what point in their careers the masters like Donne, shakespeare and Whitman started writing things that stood the test of time. Writing should always be like a fine Channel suit. As timeless as Jackie O!
  • yes, its funny and encouraging to know how far ive gone. to a one page of nothing to 150 pages of a real book that im trying to get published.
