  • Not really. The blood you lose when you give blood is rapidly made up by the reserve that your body keeps in your spleen. Over the following weeks the marrow in your bones gradually replaces that reserve. If you were in an accident where you had either traumatic blood loss and/or loss of spleen, the missing amount of blood would be the least of your problems, and while it would contribute to the problem it would not be a significant factor.   • i donate blood.....the RED CROSS states that only 3% of the population donates blood...that is sad...my blood type is "O positive", which means that my blood could be transfused into any of you to save your life....it is the only blood type that can do that.....that is why i donate....your bone marrow regenerates the lost red blood cells really fast after donation.....but, you have to wait 56 days before you donate blood again......take care......Brian.....
