I would say 'The Producers'. This Mel Brooks musical is hysterical and has won the most Tony awards of any show (opening date 4-19-01 to current). 'The Phantom of the Opera' has been running continuously for 15 years since it opened 1-26-88,and overtook 'Cats' as the longest running musical in Broadway history in January, 2006, all for good reason. This show is enchanting and solid and represents Broadway at its best. (Although I prefer the recent movie version for its acting, direction, and incomparable vocals.)

I just saw The Color Purple on Sunday. In well, I won't say how many years going to Broadway, it is one of the best shows I've ever seen! If you saw the movie with Whoppee Goldberg, you'd have a hard time imagining how they could put the story to music. But they did it brilliantly. The show was so touching and inspiring that by the end, just about the whole audience was in tears, even the men! Touched such an emotional chord, I can feel it still!

I love Cabaret, although it is dark...I saw Man of La Mancha as a teenager and loved it...full of hope...Oliver is always great...and West Side Story is magnificent

I've only been to one show on Broadway in NYC, and it REALLY sucked zombie butt!! I don't even remember the name of it. But my wife HAD to see Ralph Finnes in a Broadway show. The best show I've seen was Hairspray. Saw it in Seattle.

It's a toss up for me! I just saw "Wicked" here in St. Louis the other night...and it's definately one of my favorites. "Rent" is awesome..I saw that on Broadway. I've seen "Cats" twice here in St. Louis. And I saw "Phantom of the Opera" live in London. Those are my top 4....but, if I had to pick one, I'd say "Wicked."
