  • No. It will stretch on its own a few hours or days before birth.
  • I don't think you could ever stretch it enough to make any difference in a normal delivery.
  • I'm thinking lube and the widest dildo you can find probably would be a useful warm-up once labor begins.
  • It's called dilation, and it happens as the baby is getting ready to come out.
  • when I was preganant I was terrified of an episeotomy (when you get cut from vag opening so you don"t tear from size of baby coming out) I did research and talked to my midwife and learned that you can prepare skin between vag and anus (called the perinium) by massaging months before birth with oil. We made it part of sex play (fun) and then during both births of our 2 children our midwife stretched me a bit more. No tears no episeotomy...awesome births and totally worth it cuz I hear from many other woman that the scars down there from being sewn never feel the same.
  • tearing is jagged at times and not as easy to sew up is what my midwife said is the reason for standard episiotomies...but the truth is there are alot of things they do standard for births that have far more natural alternatives that are easier to recover from than the traditional methods. Let's be real....this is how we all got here, it's a major role of a woman's body...we are designed for it...check out natural birthing etc in a goodgle search there is sooooooooooo much info...
  • I can tell you that all the stretching in the world did nothing for me... I am very small in that area and when I gave birth to my son they stretched me, gave me an episiotomy and I still ripped all the way through... The doctor stopped counting the stitches after he hit 50... So for me the stretching did nothing to prepare me for the birth...
  • use a good monster butt plug. they make a 5" diameter with a broad taper. start a couple weeks before delivery. use a good lube. just be gentle using steady pressure. a little each day until it gets further and further although it never reaches full penetration, it would be difficult to get back out if it goes past the dip. it does make delivery much easier. but it doesn't help with the dilation of the cervix. my wife has 5 kids and has never had a tearing problem.
  • There is a product called the Epi No, which is widely available in Europe and Canada. It is a kind of balloon that you insert into the vagina and blow up, gently stretching the tissues and perineal muscles, over the course of a few weeks, you gradually increase the size until you can reach 10 cm. It has gotten great results in preventing tearing and episiomoties. It was available in the U.S. however, a couple used it improperly (kept inflating it for 10 to 20 minutes when it obviously had a hole) and she ended up with an embolism. So, once again, 1 or 2 stupid people not reading the directions and understanding something so obvious caused the FDA to pull the product and it is now not sold here anymore. I am 32 weeks pregnant and was searching for the Epi No, which is how I found this out. If you search on it you will find a lot of good information, and even spots from TV that were done to promote it back when it was sold here. After some looking for something else, I did find that they make inflatable dildos (who knew?), and am buying one of those, it looks similar, really, and inflates to about the same size. Husband thinks it's kind of funny, but, hey, maybe it will be fun, too!
