  • 1. Replace the thermostat. If the temp gage was a 200 it is probably not your problem but easy and cheap enough to try because the next steps get harder and more expensive. 2. Flush out the heater core. Find the two small (approx 1 inch) heater hoses that run to the heater core. Disconnect them and run water in one hose to flush it out. Then run water into the other hose to flush the other way. Keep doing this until the water is clear. 3. Look for a heater control valve in the heater hose. Make sure it is not plugged and it fully opens and closes. Hope this helps.
