I hate it..I think it makes them bad ABers. Purpose of AB is to rate and comment along with ask and answer. I will NOT continue to answer questions of people who do not care enough about my answer to even point it or comment on it..how do I know they read it? Several ABers are like me. I rate EVERY answer just to acknowledge I did read them..it's my way of saying TY for taking time to leave an answer.. I just think these people are here to get points for themselves and not for answers or to get really involved..they want to only get points for themselves
-
It is rude not to appreciate people going out of their way to answer a question, but some people really just do not care.
-
Not much- if they don't leave a comment. The ratings thing doesn't really bother me. I've heard a rumor that points aren't supposed to matter around here;)
-
Rude.
-
We should tar and feather them, they only want points.
-
I think people who don't show some kind of appreciation, whether it be a comment, a thank you, points, something, are selfish takers and users. They will forever stay stuck in the shallow end of the gene pool
-
I think it is rude, but they don't usually stay very long anyway
-
I wonder if they ever read the answers!
-
Its usually pretty obvious if the user just ignores their answers, or if the user is trying. If I ask a question, and it gets 100 answers, thats going to take me an hour to thank everyone. "Thank you" Its a lot easier to give out points, and move on. I just like to make sure I give points out to all of the answers I receive, (and then some...) But Some uses dont feel the same way about this topic, as I do, I will still answer their questions.
-
I don't care. :)
-
Could careless, but thats because I killed them
-
Miserly!!!!!!! points don't cost too much (LOL!)..... when you are lucky enough to have points for people, throw those points around and make other users feel good. it creates a better community and shows interest and support for great contributions. the refusal to point says something to me about an individual's stinginess, priorities, or otherwise missing the spirit of communicating appreciation through a +1 through a +6.

It isn't hard to figure out who they are and why they are here. mainly ask for attention and move to the next question. I avoid these people and their questions as it appears they are just looking for attention not answers. To think about them would waste time I could be helping someone who honestly needs it so I just keep moving forward. I have been very lucky that even when they do not rate or comment someone comes a long sooner or later and up-rates me and or comments me anyway, so it's all good.

They are only here for points.
-
It's very rude, and I've learned to avoid them or stop answering their questions. I could care less about the points, I'm here to have fun and enjoy what others think and say. I understand that when there are many answers, there isn't a lot of time for return comments. But, how long does it take to award points instead ?!?
-
Beh, who cares. Who's to say that the entire point system and how someone uses it or how they don't use it really dictates the intent of the asker, or how much it helped, or didn't help them? Some people may have different philosophies about this than others, and may not want to grant points if the answer wasn't helpful to them, for example. Is it really that bad? Do people really think that ALL their answers are masterpieces or something? All this stuff about them wanting attention or whatever may not necessarily be true, who knows how they feel when asking something important? Maybe they're really upset or worried or wtv, and the last thing on their minds are points. I know it might be disappointing to having worked on a good answer and it gets no points, but there are different angles, not just one's own. They're still people, and let's not forget that some new users may not quite know how this works around here, or are not aware of just how important points seem to be for everyone, especially when everyone keeps saying that they aren't.

Careless Garbage!
-
A. It is rude B. They are selfish C. They are just here for points themselves D. They shouldn't have asked their question in the first place E. They should be banned from AB
-
I'm here because I enjoy it. Points are nice, but they aren't that big of a deal. It's obvious people like that are only here for the points. I'm sure a lot of them never even read the answers. My question is, why bother? If you're not going to interact at all, there's no point even being here.
