  • its a fact, banning firearms will not stop gun related crime..it only takes guns away from those that obtained them legally..it doesn't stop the criminals from going out and getting them illegally. We just need better regulation and parents with kids that have common sense when they have a firearm in the house. Besides its our constitutional right to bear arms..I'm not a gun owner but I think it's our right to legally own them if we want...there's a reason they put it in the constitution! So our government doesn't control us, we should control them! Defending ourselves is our right!
  • the United States has an estimated 250 million firarms in it. would be difficult to rid the nation of those existing guns even if they were no longer available to buy. so i say just do a better job of keeping them out of the hands of criminals and people with mental problems, maybe devise better indicators of a persons intentions after obtaining weapons. enforce laws already legislated more thouroughy. make crimnals serve more active sentences for violations of possesion crimes.
  • no to the ban. I think we have enough regulations in place. I train law enforcement in non-lethal force but I own many weapons. The bad guys are always Always going to have weapons even if you ban them totally. That's proved in other countries that had gun bans.
  • None of the above. The Second Amendment to the US Constitution is there to protect us from not only each other, but also from an overbearing government. Since everyone has a basic right to protect ones self, we cannot 'regulate' beyond making sure known criminals and crazies can't get them, at least legally. But since criminals DO get access to weapons, it is important for the average Joe to be able to protect himself, at least in theory. The only regulation I would like to see is one REQUIRING every head of household to carry in public. It worked well in the one place it was tried, a small community in the southeast.
  • I feel there needs to to be more strict measures taken. Down south, most people believe in their right to bear arms. Just because firearms are banned does not mean people will give up their firearms. Some are even handed down to family members as a keepsake. One more point is, firearms will always end up in the wrong hands. I think we all have the right to keep ourselves safe if need be. I am not saying I believe in having a firearm, but I like knowing I can get one if I feel threatened, hope it never comes to that! Making sure firearms are sold to decent people is best and the right thing to do. Gun Control!
