  • It can, but, I think allergies to benedryl are rare. I've only met one person in my life who was actually allergic to it. I would ask your doctor to be sure. Ask him for something prescribed if you're concerned about it. 4 benedryl is a bunch to take to sleep.
  • Immune, yes, eventually. But you'd have to take it for a while. You should be trying to get to sleep every night with no pills regardless of your pain, and if it becomes too much you should then take one, and try to get to sleep again, if it still hurts, take one more and continue that method. It's generally the rule with most medications, unless otherwise prescribed. Remember - it takes, on average, 7 minutes of total body relaxation to actually fall asleep. Give yourself four times that that each time to let the pill kick in, relax and then sleep. But if this IS a prescription, the doctor has given you a safe amount and has told you a safe amount to take. If you are self-medicating, use the method I explained in the first paragraph.
  • I am facing extraction of a lower wisdom tooth today. Was/is your pain because of the tooth being pulled or do you still the tooth? I put off getting mine taken care of, just don't like dentists, now I'm looking forward to the end of the pain. Even though I know, from having both my upper wisdom teeth pulled, there will be some days of pain to come. Oh well, I'll have the weekend to stay in bed.
