He was an elf that spun straw in to gold for a girl because her father was vein and bragged to a king that she could. And the fee for spinning the straw in to gold was this girls first born child. The girl had forgotten about this promise until one day Rumplestiltskin can for the baby. She cried and cried so Rump. told her if you can guess my name you can keep you child...long story short the girl sent a little boy to spy on Rump.
